One of my favourite things to do as a published author is to attend book festivals. I was lucky enough to attend four book festivals this year to talk about my debut novel The Grief Nurse. All of these were Scottish festivals (in fact, I've only ever been to book festivals in Scotland!), and I can tell you there is nothing more bookishly wonderful than a book festival in Scotland. (I did move here, after all, because it always feels like Autumn... and writing is more fun when you're cosied up from the rain). Everyone (from the authors, staff, and fellow readers) is kind, friendly and supportive, and they love books. It's so nice to be around people who love books!

Cymera Fest, Edinburgh, Scotland

Aye Write, Glasgow, Scotland

Borders Book Festival, Melrose, Scotland
A beautiful book festival set in the picturesque Scottish Borders.
